Yard Long Bean - Kurosanjaku. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Vigna unguiculata subsp sesquipedalis. Komatsuna Mustard Seeds - Summer Fest - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Brassica rapa var. perviridis. Alt names: komatsuna, mustard spinach, tender green mustard. 21 days in summer, Warm season annual. 50-70 days in winter. This popular traditional Japanese komatsuna hybrid has glossy, thick dark green leaves and an upright growing habit. Summer Fest is an extra early komatsuna that is resistant to heat. It is especially suited for summer crop and high tolerance to multiple diseases. Tolerant to Downy Mildew and White Rust. Highly recommended for summer production. Prefers mild and cool temperatures. Sugukina turnip is a traditional vegetable, dento-yasai, in Kyoto Japan. The production of this vegetable is in the area of Kamigamo, Kyoto. While it can be eaten fresh like any other turnip, its main use is for pickling. Suguki pickes (Sugukizuke) have been produced for generations in Kyoto for over 300 years. Most recently, researchers have started to become interested in Sugukizuke for its reported flu-fighting properties. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds from early spring or late summer/early fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest.
