Long Ping Tung eggplant originate from Ping Tung, Taiwan. Plants are disease resistant and do well even in heat. Fruits produced are 12-18� long and 1.25� wide. They are various shades of purple. After 65-90 days, fruits should be ready for harvest, and can be removed from the plant by cutting the stem 1� away from the fruit. Fruits are sweet and tender with no bitter taste. They can be eaten without being skinned or cooked and still retain their sweetness.

Mustard Seeds - Misome Choho - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Brassica campestris Narinosa group. AKA Japan green, komatsuna, tasai, tatsoi. Warm & cool season annual. 25 days. One of several hybrids of Komatsuna and Tatsoi, this uniform, easy to grow hardy green has round thick leaves and an upright habit. It has a sweet flavor when raw which becomes more robust when cooked. High heat tolerance. Downy Mildew and White Rust resistant. Grow all year round in moderate climates. Chinese Cabbage Seeds - Matsushima No. 2. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Brassica rapa Pekinensis group. Also known as baechu, baguio, bai cai, cai bac thao, cai dai, celery cabbage, Chinese leaves, da bai cai, hakusai, heading Chinese cabbage, huang ya cai, huan ya bai, jie jin bai chai, kala gowa, kobis cina, kubis cina, kubis panjang, nappa, nappa cabbage, pe tsai, petsay tsina, phakkaat khaao plee, sawi, sawi pahit, siew choy, ta paak tsai, won bok, wong bok, wong nga pak. 80 days to maturity. Cool season annual. This Japanese heirloom or dento yasai variety is a staple in many parts of Asia. It has a barrel shaped head and is suitable for intensive planting. The leaves can be dried for winter use. Prefers cool temperatures for its main growing season. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late summer/early fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Exposing plants to frost or prolonged temperatures below 50?F may result in bolting. Harvest time is fall to early winter. Melon Seeds - New Melon. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Cucumis melo. Also known as makuwauri or meron.110-120 days (40-45 days after fruit setting). Warm season annual. An open pollinated round melon that is a Japanese specialty. Developed in the 1950s for its fragrance and sweet tasting fruit, it has smooth green skin and white to pale yellow flesh. Each plant produces roughly 4-8 melons. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/early summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Soil temperatures below 50?F can slow growth. Consider using black plastic and fabric row cover to speed soil warming. Sandy or light-textured soils that warm quickly in spring are best. Eggplant Seeds - Konasu. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Solanum melongena. 60 days. Warm season annual. This tiny, bite-sized, rounded eggplant has shiny dark purple skin that looks almost onyx in color. The calyx is also a purplish-black, and beneath the tender skin is white flesh. Start seeds inside 6 weeks before last frost date (or 8 weeks before expected transplanting date). Keep soil warm until emergence (80-90?F minimum). Seeds will not germinate in cool soil and planting out too early may affect plant vigor. Harden off plants carefully before transplanting. Shiso Herb Seeds (Perilla) - Korean. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Perilla frutescens var. frutescens. AKA beefsteak leaf, beefsteak plant, dulketip, gee so, jiso, kkaennip, kkaennip namul, oba, purple mint, shiso, tia to, tulkkae, zi su. 70 days. Warm season annual. This large leaf perilla is a Korean specialty. The leaves are two-toned-- bright green on top and light purple underneath. They have a unique flavor that tastes somewhere between mint and basil and are often used as a wrap for sushi and cooked food. Excellent as a microgreen for salads/garnish.
