Da Hong Winter variety is excellent for baby leaf production. It grows faster than Da Hong Summer variety during the fall-winter season. When Da Hong Winter variety is grown during summer, the days to maturity is the same as Da Hong Summer variety. Leaf color is violet-red with green petiole color. Leaves are oval-shape and is tolerant to cool temperatures. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost to early summer or late summer/early fall. Keep soil moist.
