The Chinese Snake Curved cucumber is the curved variation of Chinese Snake cucumbers. It has strong vines that yield long curved cucumbers. Fruits are dark green and grow to be 15-18� in length. They are disease resistant and quite growable at home. Seeds can be sown indoors and transplanted outside after the final frost or sowed directly outside in full sun in the spring. Harvest individual cucumbers as they reach full size around 65-75 days after sowing. After harvest, these long cucumbers and easy to slice and make a great addition to salads and dishes with their crisp but tender taste.

Mustard Seeds - Tsa Tsai Round. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Brassica juncea var linearifolia. 120 days. Cool season annual. Tsa Tsai is a popular and unique mustard variety from Southwest China and called Szechuan or Sichuan vegetable. It is also known as swollen stem mustard or pressed stem mustard because the stem enlarges into thick tuber-like bumps just below the petioles. Its stem will grow 4-6" in diameter and weigh up to 1/2 pound. Chinese swollen stem mustard is a cool season crop. The ideal temperature to promote stem swelling is 46?F-56?F. It usually takes 3-4 weeks for 5-6 leaves to grow and stems are harvested in 120 days. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in early fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. The flavor is best when grown briskly so plant in fertile soil and keep well watered. Start harvesting at 3" tall for baby mustard greens. Thin to 10" apart for mature heads. May bolt as temperatures and day lengths increase. Harvest florets as they are tender and delicious too. Young leaves may be harvested and used like any mustard green, in soups, stir-fries and pickled. The swollen stem base can be peeled and cooked but is most known as Zhacia or Cha Tsai (pickled with salt and chili). It is added to fried rice, soups and tofu dishes for flavor. The leaves are green, frilly and wrinkled with smooth white petioles. Can be grown year-round in sub-tropical areas. The leaves are very tender and crisp and can be prepared in stir-fry or added to soup. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Seaweed Mustard Seeds - Oka Hijiki. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Salsola komarovi. AKA oka hijiki, seaweed mustard. 30-40 days. Cool season annual. Also known as seaweed on land" or saltwort, this nutritious, grass-like green grows wild in Japan's salt marshes and is also commercially cultivated. Its 12" long, matchstick leaves are excellent sources of vitamin A, calcium and potassium. Tender, young leaves are appreciated for their tart, salty flavor and succulent texture and are mainly eaten fresh or lightly steamed. Also grown as microgreens. Prefers mild and cool temperatures. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring or early fall. Pre-chill seed for 7 days at 41?F for better germination. Germination temperatures from 20-30*C for 14 days. The only special treatment would be to use light during the 8 hour period at the high temperature (30*C). Seed liberally and cover seed lightly with soil. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. For best germination, seed should be stored at 41?F until planted. Blanch tender leaves briefly in salty water, then refresh in an ice bath and add to salads.
