Komatsuna Mustard Seeds - Summer Fest - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Brassica rapa var. perviridis. Alt names: komatsuna, mustard spinach, tender green mustard. 21 days in summer, Warm season annual. 50-70 days in winter. This popular traditional Japanese komatsuna hybrid has glossy, thick dark green leaves and an upright growing habit. Summer Fest is an extra early komatsuna that is resistant to heat. It is especially suited for summer crop and high tolerance to multiple diseases. Tolerant to Downy Mildew and White Rust. Highly recommended for summer production. Prefers mild and cool temperatures. Prepare fertile, well drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/early summer after last frost or late summer/early fall. Avoid hot summer planting for best results. Organic Mizuna Mustard Seeds. 40 days to full maturity. 20 days to maturity for baby leaves. Can be grown in containers. Brassica japonica. Heirloom, Non-GMO, Annual. Can be grown as Microgreens. Dozens of pencil thin white stalks and deeply cut fringed leaves mild flavor will grow after cutting productive strain.
Brassica rapa Narinosa Group. Non-GMO. Red Tatsoi makes a lovely microgreen as well as a terrific full size cool season asian green. As a microgreen the cotyledons open green and change to a reddish purple on about day 4. It germinates quickly and is ready for harvest in 7 - 10 days. For the best color give cool temperatures. Outside in areas with a cool summer, plant in late spring in full sun. Red Tatsoi is a wonderful additional to the fall garden, overwintering in mild climates. Grow undercover for early spring harvests in cold winter areas.
Hibiscus Seeds - Asian Sour Leaf (Roselle). Heirloom, Non-GMO. Hibiscus sabdariffa. Other names: Florida Cranberry, Indian Sorrel, Jamaican Tea, Maple-Leaf Hibiscus, October Hibiscus, Red Sorrell, Roselle. 70-90 days. Perennial in zones 9-12. Can be grown as an annual. Hibiscus sabdariffa. Edible leaves and flowers. Roselle or Sour Leaf is grown in tropical and subtropical regions. Burmese say chin baung ywat" which is translated into "sour leaf." It can be grown as a summer crop in temperate regions. The flavor of the flowers buds/leaves are sour tasting and work well with pickling, curries, or prepared with strong and spicy flavors. AKA: Florida Cranberry, Indian Sorrel, Jamaican Tea, Maple-Leaf Hibiscus, October Hibiscus, Red Sorrell, Roselle. Roselle is very sensitive to frost. Prepare fertile sandy loam soil. Sow seeds in spring/summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Or start seeds indoors and transplant when weather warms. Keep soil moist. For leaf harvesting, begin 6 weeks after transplanting or when 18" tall, leaving 3-4" of stem. Second cutting and after are done in 4 weeks intervals. Short plants may be thinned out. The fruits are harvested when plants are full grown and can easily snapped off by hand. They are easier to break off in the morning than at the end of the day. Flowers are used in beverages and simple syrups, sauces, jellies, preserves, chutneys. The leaves are prepared fresh in salads or cooked vegetables and used to season curries. ~1750 seeds an ounce."
Sesame Seeeds - White - Shirogoma. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Annual. Sesame indicum. Alt names chih ma, linga, ngaa, shirogoma, shiro sesame, thala atta, til, wijen. 85 days. White sesame seed is easy to grow and delicious roasted. This tropical plant likes long hot summers. Typically, seeds are roasted before using and then used whole, crushed or ground. Korean cooking makes use of sesame seeds, especially in soups and as a dressing for lightly cooked vegetables. Start seeds inside 6 weeks before last frost date. Transplant outside 1 month after last frost date. Or direct seed into warm, fertile, and well-drained soil. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Harvest ripe seedpods when the tips split. Dry thoroughly on a tray or rack. Open pods, harvest seed, and refrigerate in an airtight container. Agastache Seeds - Rugosa Korean Mint. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Edible flowers and leaves. Perennial in Zones 4-9. AKA: blue licorice, purple giant hyssop, Indian mint, wrinkled giant hyssop, huo xiang, Chinese patchouli, and Korean hyssop. Korean mint is an aromatic herb in the mint family native to East Asia. It has a licorice scent. The plant can grow up to 3 feet and produces violet to blue flowering clusters attracting butterflies and bees. The leaves are oval, crinkled, and has serrated margins.
