Lettuce Seeds - Summer 38 Celtuce. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Lactuca sativavar asparagina. 75-85 days. Cool season annual. This variety of Chinese stem lettuce has pointed, light green leaves. Good tolerance to heat and cold and is slow bolting. This celtuce can tolerate 100?F for a few days and slow bolting. This variety has nice stem development during warm season. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. In cool areas sow seeds in spring after last frost or late summer to early fall in a sunny location. Turnip Seeds - Tennouji Kabura. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Brassica rapa subsp. rapa. 25-45 days depending on type of maturity. Cool season annual. The Tennouji Kabura is one of the oldest traditional Japanese turnips. It was originally a specialty of the Osaka Tennouji district, where it thrived during the Edo era in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The Tennouji is a close relative to variety #116 Nozawana, when its seed was sown in 1756 in the mountainous region of Nozawa. The semi-flat white oval root grows 3 to 4" diameter. This variety produces large leaves and is appreciated for its aroma and flavor, particularly pickled or dried. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost or in late summer/fall for a fall/winter crop in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Swiss Chard Seeds - Japanese Umaina. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Beta vulgaris var cicla. Alt names: fudanso, Swiss Chard, tian cai, tojishiya. 55 days. Cool season annual. This tender Japanese variety has broad leaves that are deep green, slightly savoyed, and have short pale green midribs. It can withstand both hot and cold temperatures and is very slow to bolt. Good for fresh market and home garden growing. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost in a warm, sunny location or partial shade in hot areas. In temperate areas, sow in late summer/early fall as well. Keep soil moist. Soak seeds and rinse water 3-4 times before planting. Hot Radish Seeds - AKA Karaine - Hybrid.Raphanus sativus. 60 days to maturity. Non GMO. Open pollinated. Cool season annual. This unique, prize winning, Japanese hybrid, has bright pink skin and pink flesh with a white core. The roots are cylindrical in shape--about twice as long (6) as they are wide.
