Gourd Seeds - Bonanza. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Luffa acutangula. 80-90 days. Warm season annual. Also know as Chinese okra, this vigorous productive plant produces a high yield of edible fruit on strong, lateral branches. Fruit are 18 long, 2" in diameter and weigh just under a pound. The green-colored, ridged fruit is tender and tasty and matures 45 days after the flower sets. Requires a long, warm growing season. Prepare fertile, well drained soil. Sow seeds in spring/early summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. The seed coat is hard and should be soaked in warm water for 24 hours or gently clip the seed tip to help the seed germinate. Hill planting: Form soil into a 1-ft. diameter mound 3-4' tall. Onion Seeds - Shonan Red. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Allium cepa. AKA bawang besar, bawang bombay, hom yao, piyaz, rata lunu, sibuyas, tama negi, tsung tau, yang cong. 160+ days. Annual. This red bulb onion is medium day length. The name Shonan is a region in Kanagawa Prefecture. The onion has excellent flavor with a crisp, sweet, mild pungency that makes it excellent for salads. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late summer to early fall. Transplant seedlings in early fall or no later than mid fall. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Pull onions when skins develop and tops have fallen over (late spring). Allow the onions to dry in the open air for a few days. Cut off tops and roots. Air dry 2-3 more days. This will help to seal the onion and avoid spoiling. Onions can also be harvested at any stage before full maturity.
