Cool season annual. This early maturing butterhead lettuce is a Japanese variety known for its delicate flavor and resistance to heat. Deep green leaves form small heads. It has moderate cold tolerance and moderate resistance to bolting. It can be grown all year round in the tropics. Lettuce is adaptable to many growing conditions, but likes it cool around 60-65F. Grow in spring and fall, and slow bolting by shading summer crops. In cool areas sow seeds in spring-early summer after last frost in a sunny location. In temperate areas, sow in spring and fall. In tropical areas, sow year-round. Seeds need light to germinate, so do not plant too deep. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Keep soil moist. Moisture stress and high temperatures encourage bolting. Make succession plantings every week or two. A light dressing is all the seasoning this variety needs. About 28125 seeds/ounce.

Gourd Seeds - Giant Wax -4 Oz ~560 Seeds - Non-GMO, Heirloom - Vegetable Garden

Gourd Seeds - Giant Wax. Heirloom, Non-GMO. 102 days to maturity. Warm season annual. This easy-to-grow winter melon lives up to its name -- the plants produce very large fruit that weigh 30 to 35 pounds. The blocky and round shaped gourds are green with a white waxy coating. This giant wax gourd thrives in well-drained soils and hot temperatures, due in part to its extensive root system. Fruit keeps for many months off the vine, making it a staple in colder months. The skin will form a white waxy layer when ripe. Use the white flesh of this giant fruit in a chicken and wax-gourd curry, or get creative and use it as part of the presentation. Serve appetizers of finely chopped stir-fried vegetables, for example, scooped into small hollowed-out bowls made from the melon flesh. Requires a long, warm growing season. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/early summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours to soften the hard seed coat. Hill planting: Form soil into a 1-ft. diameter mound 3-4 tall. Space mounds 4-6' apart. Sow 1-2 seeds in each mound. Row planting: See spacing info in chart. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Hand pollination may be necessary. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation and ease of harvest or leave to sprawl on the ground. Store fruit in a dry, cool environment during winter months and avoid direct contact with concrete. Delicious in soups, stews, pastry filling, and jams. Cut open gourd, peel, scrape out seeds and cut into cubes. About 140 seeds/ounce."

Eggplant Seeds - Ao Daimaru. Heirloom, Solanum melongena. 65 days. NonGMO. Open pollinated. Warm season annual. Start seeds inside 6 weeks before last frost date (or 8 weeks before expected transplanting date). Keep soil warm until emergence (80-90?F minimum). Seeds will not germinate in cool soil and planting out too early may affect plant vigor. Harden off plants carefully before transplanting. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Transplant in late spring/ summer (soil temperatures at least above 75?F) in a very warm and sunny location. Eggplants are heavy feeders so use a balanced fertilizer. Too much nitrogen will produce lush foliage and few fruit. Use for tempura, stir-fry, baking, grilling, and pickling. Delicious when coated, baked or fried with miso. About 1125 seeds/ounce.
