Radish Seeds - Mino Early. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Raphanus sativus. AKA alibanos, cu cai, cu cai trang, daikon, daikon radish, giant white radish, hua piahs, Japanese radish, labanos, lai fu, lao bo, lobak, lobak isi, lobak putih, lo bok, long white radish, lo pak, lu fu, luo bu, moo, mu, muli, oriental radish, phakkaat hua, rabanos, rabu. 40-50 days. Cool season annual. Mino Early is a leading open pollinated radish (daikon) for summer to fall harvest in Japan. It has good heat tolerance and can be grown all year round in tropical areas. The tapered root is long, white, tender and crisp with a mild pungency. Harvest when 14-16 long and weighing 1.75 lbs. Late pithiness. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring through summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Use in soup, salad, pickled or fresh. Daikon oroshi (coarsely grated daikon using a Japanese grater) is delicious in sauces used for soba noodles, tempura and sashimi. About 11000 seeds/ounce."
Onion Seeds - Shonan Red. Heirloom, Non-GMO. Allium cepa. AKA bawang besar, bawang bombay, hom yao, piyaz, rata lunu, sibuyas, tama negi, tsung tau, yang cong. 160+ days. Annual. This red bulb onion is medium day length. The name Shonan is a region in Kanagawa Prefecture. The onion has excellent flavor with a crisp, sweet, mild pungency that makes it excellent for salads. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late summer to early fall. Transplant seedlings in early fall or no later than mid fall. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Pull onions when skins develop and tops have fallen over (late spring). Allow the onions to dry in the open air for a few days. Cut off tops and roots. Air dry 2-3 more days. This will help to seal the onion and avoid spoiling. Onions can also be harvested at any stage before full maturity. Make a delicious sweet and sour cucumber salad with thinly sliced cucumber and red onion marinated in vinegar, sugar, salt and dried chili flakes. About 8500 seeds an ounce.

Turnip Seeds - Fuku Komachi - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Brassica rapa subsp. rapa. 25-45 days depending on type of maturity. Cool season annual. Fuku Komachi has one of the slowest bolting habits compared with other turnip varieties for colder temperatures and quick growing under low temperatures. Chirimen Winter Squash Seeds. 100 days to maturity. Cucurbita moschata. Non-GMO, Heirloom, Annual. Chirimen is a traditional kabocha squash, dento yasai, of Japan. This tasty variety of Japanese pumpkin forms a flat globe with distinct ribs and warts (resembles cauliflower) that can reach 8 in diameter. The dark green skin matures to a buff color. Creamy yellow, moist thick flesh has a sweet and nutty flavor. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring/summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Hill planting: Form soil into a 1-ft. diameter mound 3-4" tall. Space mounds 5-10' apart. On each mound plant 1-2 seeds. Row planting: See spacing info in chart. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Cabbage Seeds - Pak Choi - Purple Gem - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Brassica rapa Chinensis Group. 10-15 days microgreens; 20-30 days baby leaf; 45 days full maturity. Cool season annual. Purple Gem variety is an excellent variety for baby leaf and for microgreens. The leaves are purple-red and oval shape. The flavor is mild and mixes well with other baby greens and microgreen mixes. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost to early summer or late summer/early fall. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Optimum growing temperatures are in the 60s?F. Exposure to frost or prolonged temperatures below 50?F may result in bolting. Mulch fall crops to avoid premature bolting. Most vegetables leave having purple color is called anthocyan" which is generally developed by lower temperature. Growing temperatures 50-60?F should be adequate to develop "anthocyan" after the seeds have germinated. We cannot tell exactly how long exposure should be under low temperatures.
