It is a black seeded variety and is one of the most popular varieties grown. These extra long dark green stringless beans are highly prized because of their sweet and crunchy pods. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Train to climb a vertical support. Harvest in midsummer when pods are smooth, tender and 14-18 long. Used most notably in the popular Szechwan dish Dry-Fried Beans. These may be used to replace string beans in any dish. Can be deep-fried, stir-fried, steamed or used in soups.Approx 180 seeds / oz."
