This early maturing, small Korean radish is tender and crisp with almost no pungency. This is a Chong Gak type of Korean radish and also known as an Altari type Korean radish. Its white roots grow 3-4 long and weigh about 2-3 oz. It can be grown year round in mild climate areas. Sushiro is a good substitute for Passion Altari and it available in untreated seed. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring or fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Use in soup, salad, tsukemono (pickled). Excellent for kimchee.
